Position: Technical Manager

Location: Devon, United Kingdom

Role and Responsibilities:
As a Technical Manager at our food manufacturing facility, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the technical function, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and driving continuous improvement in our operations. Your key responsibilities will include:

Quality Assurance: Implementing and maintaining robust quality management systems to ensure the highest quality standards are met throughout the production process.

Food Safety Compliance: Ensuring strict adherence to food safety regulations, certifications, and HACCP principles, with a focus on maintaining and improving our impeccable track record.

Process Optimization: Collaborating with the production and R&D teams to optimize manufacturing processes, enhance product quality, and drive efficiency gains.

Supplier Management: Evaluating and managing supplier relationships, conducting audits, and ensuring the quality of raw materials and ingredients.

Team Leadership: Providing effective leadership and guidance to the technical team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and promoting professional development.

Regulatory Compliance: Staying up-to-date with relevant food industry regulations, certifications, and emerging trends to ensure the company remains compliant and innovative.

New Product Development: Supporting the R&D team in developing new food products and successfully integrating them into the production process.

Requirements:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

Education: A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field. Advanced certifications in food safety and quality management will be a plus.

Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a managerial role within the food manufacturing industry, with a proven track record of successful quality and safety management.

Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, BRC, etc.), food processing technologies, and quality assurance principles.

Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and implement effective solutions.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.

Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Innovation: A passion for innovation and continuous improvement, with the ability to identify and implement process enhancements.
